Browser extension: replace unauthenticated requests with authenticated Solid requests

Pitch

A webpage http://example.com is only readable by WebID https://example.com/card#me.
We have a browser extension that makes authenticated requests using our WebID.
That way, the webpage http://example.com doesn't have to be changed to support a Solid login.

Desired solution

• A browser extension to which I can log in with my WebID.

Acceptance criteria

• My browser displays a button to log in with my WebID.
• I can also log out.
• When visiting a webpage that requires authentication and
  • I'm not logged in: I get an error message. This can be the default browser error message.
  • I'm logged: I get the content of the webpage.

Pointers

• This is an alternative to and hopefully easier challenge then challenge One-button Solid login via the browser window #44.
• Client credentials in CSS.
