When I click "Start an application", it redirect to pricing page. How to resolve it?

Hi everyone,

Two years ago, while I was still in high school, I verified my student status using a high school enrollment certificate. Since two years have passed and I have since graduated from high school, my high school verification has expired. I attempted to re-verify my status as a university student, but when I click the “Start Application” button to go to the student verification page, I am redirected to the pricing page.
I’ve also tried accessing the student verification page using the methods listed below, but I’m either redirected to the pricing page or only see the message “We’re still processing your application.”

Methods I Tried

• Logged out and logged back in
• Tried in an private tab
• Tried in a different browser
• Tried on a different platform (iOS)
• Tried from a different IP address
• Tried again a few days later
• Directly accessed the student verification page (https://education.github.com/pack/redeem/github-student-pro)

This is a common issue when your previous verification has expired. Here is how to fix it:

1. Clear your browser cache and cookies for github.com
2. Go to education.github.com directly
3. Make sure you are using your university-issued email (not your personal email) and it is set as your primary email on GitHub
4. If it still redirects, try in an Incognito/Private browser window
5. If none of that works, contact GitHub Support at support.github.com — they can manually verify your student status

The redirect to pricing usually happens because GitHub does not detect a valid student status. Once you complete a fresh verification with your current university email, it should work correctly. Good luck!

heyyy so this is actually a super common issue and ur def not alone in this 😭

basically what's happening is - since ur old high school verification expired, github's backend still has ur account flagged with that old expired status, and it gets confused when u try to start a fresh application. instead of showing u the form it just yeets u to the pricing page lol

the bad news is - u literally cannot fix this from ur side. ive seen like 50 threads abt this exact thing and the answer is always the same

what u gotta do:

contact github education support directly 👇

tell them:

• ur old high school verification expired
• ur now a uni student trying to reverify
• the "start application" button redirects to pricing instead of the form
• attach ur university enrollment proof (like an enrollment letter or student id) right in the ticket

they'll manually reset ur education eligibility on the backend and once they do that the application page will work normally again

also make sure ur github profile name matches what's on ur uni documents bc mismatches can cause extra delays

and yeah github support can be kinda slow to respond sometimes so just be patient and dont submit multiple tickets - that actually slows things down more 💀
